2024 Beijing Overseas Chinese Talent Conference For Development was grandly opened on August 28-29 at the Yizhuang International Conference Center in Beijing.

The event, guided by the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese (ACFROC), was jointly organized by the Beijing Returned Overseas Chinese Federation, the Beijing Overseas Chinese Friendship Association, and the Beijing Economic Development Area Management Committee. It aimed to create a high-level, international exchange platform, gathering global wisdom and power from the overseas Chinese community to jointly explore new paths for technological innovation and industrial upgrading, injecting strong momentum into the Beijing practice of Chinese-style modernization.

Vice Chairman of the ACFROC Cheng Hong and Yang Jinbai, Member of the Standing Committee of the Beijing Municipal Committee and President of the Beijing Overseas Chinese Friendship Association, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Other attendees included Sima Hong, Vice Mayor of Beijing, Jiang Erxiong, Vice Governor of Fujian Province, Liu Zhongfan, Vice Chairman of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and Nobel Laureate in Physics Andre Geim. The event was hosted by Yan Weiqun, Secretary of the Beijing Overseas Chinese Federation.

Linhua Jiang, Chairman of the China-Europe Scientists Forum Organizing Committee and Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Bolivia, was invited to attend and delivered a keynote speech titled "The China-Europe Scientists Forum and Innovation Ecosystems." The CESF delegation included Jiang Linhua (CESF Chairman), Wang Zefeng (CESF Vice Chairman), Zhi Mali (CESF Vice Secretary-General and Director of the Business Center), and Kong Dongyi (CESF Vice Chairman). Important guests also included Dou Dou (President of the Tongji University Alumni Association in France), Sun Xueguang (President of the AIFC), Li Li (President of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Lyon, France), among others. They engaged in extensive exchanges with other conference participants.

As an important platform for promoting China-Europe scientific cooperation and exchange, the China-Europe Scientists Forum has made significant achievements in recent years in advancing joint scientific research, talent development, and results transformation.
